Those that know me really well, know that I am in the middle of my education experience in order to become an elementary educator. The more time I spend in my college courses learning about teaching and time in the classroom watching other teachers, the more I am excited to have my very own classroom. If you look back to my first posts (and only posts...I know, I am horrible....but I have been so busy with my schooling and life that I haven't had much time to post anything) and at my "about me" you will see that I explain how excited I am for teaching the future leaders of our world. This has not changed. I don't remember exactly when I started thinking about becoming a teacher, but I do remember the process that helped me come to that decision. I remember when I first thought that I would like teaching; I was about 25 years old thinking about starting college courses. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to go to school for but I knew that I didn't want to waste my time and money by taking courses that weren't necessary for my future degree. I decided to try substitute teaching to see if I could handle the school environment and handle hanging out with kids every day. After a few days of subbing, I fell in love. I decided that this is definitely the career for me. Now, years later I am in my final few semesters of school and soon I will be AN ELEMENTARY TEACHER (yes, I meant to shout that)! Once I get a classroom of my own, I have a few ideas about how I will run my classroom. However, I am still improving my plan as I go along. I have learned that the process leading up to getting my teaching degree is ever changing with the continuous new information that I am learning about teaching. I can't for sure say what I will do in my future classroom as a teacher, however, I can at least say that I will make sure my students get the most out of their education in my classroom. I will make sure that each of my students feel welcome, special, and appreciated. I will make sure to hold my students to high standards and let them know that I believe in them at all times. I will make sure to always do my best as a teacher and will change my outlook as a teacher whenever it is necessary to improve.
Once I become a teacher I will start my own class/educational blog. Here are some great examples of educational blogs that I hope to emulate.
